Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 September 2026
TeslaRides ("we", "our", "I") is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when you use our website, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and your rights under UK GDPR.
1. Who We Are
TeslaRides is a booking-enquiry and referral website for private-hire transport, operated by Mohammed Eijaz.
Licensed Private Hire Driver — Wolverhampton City Council
Phone: 07980 069000
Email: [email protected]
TeslaRides is a booking-enquiry website only. It does not hold a private-hire operator licence and does not accept or operate bookings. Every journey arranged through this website is accepted, recorded and operated by Happy Cabs (Stafford), the licensed private-hire operator.
2. What Data We Collect
We collect the following personal data when you submit a booking enquiry via our website:
- Name — to identify you and address you correctly
- Phone number — to confirm your enquiry and contact you about your journey
- Pickup and drop-off addresses — to plan and quote your journey
- Date and time of journey — to schedule your booking
- Special requirements / notes — to accommodate SEN needs, mobility aids, or other requirements
- Number of passengers — to ensure the right vehicle capacity
We do not collect payment card data. TeslaRides never collects fares, deposits, or any payment. When a booking is confirmed, Happy Cabs (Stafford) sends you its own secure payment link and you pay Happy Cabs (Stafford) directly.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data solely to:
- Respond to and pass on your booking enquiry to Happy Cabs (Stafford)
- Contact you about changes to your journey
- Arrange the transport service you have requested
- Comply with our legal obligations
We use OpenStreetMap Nominatim (a free geocoding service) to convert addresses to coordinates for route planning. This request is made directly from your browser and is subject to OpenStreetMap's Usage Policy.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your data under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b) — processing necessary to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (i.e., to arrange your transport service).
For special category data (e.g., health or SEN-related information you voluntarily share in notes), we rely on UK GDPR Article 9(2)(a) — explicit consent, which you give by voluntarily submitting that information.
5. Data Retention
We retain your booking data for a maximum of 7 years in accordance with HMRC record-keeping requirements for self-employed traders. After this period, all personal data is securely deleted.
6. Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is shared only with:
- Happy Cabs (Stafford) — the licensed private-hire operator that accepts and fulfils your booking. Your enquiry details are passed to them so they can accept and arrange your journey.
- WhatsApp (Meta) — when you submit a booking, your enquiry details may be sent via WhatsApp so we can respond. By using our booking form, you consent to this.
- HM Revenue & Customs — as required by UK tax law
- Licensing authorities — if requested in connection with a regulatory investigation
7. Your Rights (UK GDPR)
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of your personal data (Subject Access Request)
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data (subject to legal retention periods)
- Restrict processing — limit how we use your data
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured format
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Lodge a complaint — with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].
8. Data Security
Our website uses HTTPS encryption. Booking data is transmitted via WhatsApp (Meta's end-to-end encrypted platform). As a solo operator, access to your data is strictly limited to Mohammed Eijaz and Happy Cabs (Stafford) for the purpose of arranging your journey.
9. Cookies
Our website uses only essential session cookies to maintain form state during booking. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy for full details.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available at teslarides.co.uk/privacy-policy.html
